Born in Quebec city and raised in Alberta, soprano Kimberley Lynch now resides in Montreal where she has established herself as a soloist and ensemble singer.

Kimberley has teamed up with Montreal pianist Polina Gubnitskaia under the name “Duo Lynch/Gubnitskaia”. The duo was formed in 2017 and performs across Quebec and Ontario. Their most recent program, “Ombres et lumières” which focuses on French and contemporary Québécois composers was premiered at the Maison de la Culture Ahuntsic in spring of 2022 and has been performed in various other venues since then. With funding from Montreal's Bourse Jeunes Volontaires, The duo produced a first recording, featuring the music of Robert Schumann and a solo piano transcription by Liszt-Wagner, at the Chapelle Historique du Bon Pasteur. The album, which is available on spotify was released in 2018, and excerpts from the recording were featured on Radio Classique's ''La Plage Musicale'' program. 

Kimberley is a member of the exciting new ensemble “The Blue Dawn Quartet” founded in 2020 by Rona Nadler.  The ensemble's first project was to record “In bloien baginen,” a set of original songs by director Rona Nadler on texts by Yiddish poet Kadya Molodowsky.  The group had performed these pieces alongside a wide range of repertoire of contemporary, classical, folk and jazz arrangements. They have been featured by KlezKanada Summer Retreat and Festival de la Voix and have been chosen to be one of prairie debut’s touring artists in 2025.

Kimberley is also a founding member of the octet VB8, an offshoot of Montreal choir “voces Boreales” directed by Andy Gray.  VB8 recently launched their debut album “Winter Magic” on which Kimberley is a featured soloist and ensemble member. The Album was featured on CBC choral concert with Frédéricka Petit-Homme   

Kimberley appears frequently with many other ensembles, including Choeur de l’Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, Voces Boreales, Ensemble Art Choral, La Chapelle de Quebec, Ensemble One Equall Musick, and the Choir of the Church of Saint Andrew and Saint Paul.  In 2020 Kimberley was a soloist and ensemble member on the Church of Saint Andrew and Saint Paul’s 2020 album “Distance.”

Kimberley completed her masters in opera and voice performance at the Schulich School of Music at McGill Univesity in 2016.  She also received a bachelor of music in voice performance at McGill University and completed both degrees under the guidance of professor Joanne Kolomyjec. Throughout the course of her university studies, she has appeared in numerous Opera Mcgill productions, the most recent one being the title role in Handel’s Rodelinda in March 2016. Other highlights include Amy March, in Little Women, by Mark Adamo, Barbarina in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, Cupid in Venus and Adonis by John Blow, and Peaseblossom from Benjamin Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. 

In 2014 Kimberley attended the International summer courses for new music in Darmstadt where she studied with soprano Donatienne Michel-Dansac.  Kimberley enjoys the exploration and development of new compositions and has worked with and premiered the works of many composers. .
